Here is something I found in an article explaining why hand fetishes exists. I am not sure I agree with this assessment but it is interesting just the same.
Hands are one of the only parts of the body that actually are involved in touching a partner (lips being the other) the primary object of arousal becomes the hands.
An alternative explanation is that in many cultures, male and female hands are noticeably different in appearance. Males hands are usually bigger, thicker, and rougher from manual labor. While female hands are more delicate and often adorned with nail polish or rings.
